Buildings and Facilities

Church

The church consists of the:

Narthex- the small chamber immediately inside the front
entrance of the doors

Nave- the part of the church where the congregation sits,
between the Narthex and the altar rail

Chancel- in many churches (although not Epiphany), the area between the nave and the sanctuary, where the choir sits. At Epiphany, our choir sits near the organ in the balcony

Sanctuary- the portion of the church behind the altar rail, including the altar and seating for the priest, Eucharistic ministers, and acolytes Chapel- small worship area located behind the sanctuary, accessed from the door at the side of the church near the Parish Hall

Sacristy- the working and vesting rooms behind the altar area

Parish Hall

The main room of the Parish Hall is used for both formal and informal meetings of the congregation, including coffee hour after each worship service, Sunday School classes, Vestry meetings, Vacation Bible School, the Annual Parish Meeting, and many other gatherings. Additional rooms in the building include the Nursery, the Children's Room, the Teen's Room, the Guild Room, and the Kitchen.

Use of the Parish Hall is available for all church functions, according to the posted calendar. Church members are requested to record all church functions on this calendar to prevent double-bookings. If you would like to use the Parish Hall for a non-church function, contact Fr. Pete for more information.

Offices

Offices of the priest and secretary are located just off the Parish Hall. The door is located outside just East of the Parish Hall.

Outdoors

Epiphany's outdoor facilities include the Memorial Garden and the Children's Play-Yard. Both of these are maintained by volunteers; speak to Fr. Pete if you are interested in helping.

Maintenance and Improvements

Maintenance and improvements are the responsibility of the Vestry. If you see a need for maintenance or have an idea for physical improvements, speak to a Vestry member, or write it down and drop you note in the maintenance suggestion box on the counter in the Parish Hall.
